2005 YU55 to arrive on November 8, 2011

Discovered by Robert McMillan of the Spacewatch Program near Tucson, Arizona on December 28, 2005, the third near-earth asteroid of 2011, named 2005 YU55 will pass between the Moon and the Earth on November 8. The dark, near spherical rock of 400 meters diameter will move as close as 0.85 lunar distances from earth, confirmed NASA marking it the closest approach to date by an object this large that we know about in advance.

Though classified as a potentially hazardous object, 2005 YU55 poses no threat to Earth for at least the next 100 years, reported NASA’s Neart Earth Object Program.

The approach of 2011 MD had created a news earlier this week, when it passed roughly 7,500 miles close to Earth. Earth’s gravity sharply altered its trajectory, preventing it from hitting the planet. However, the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center in Massachusetts, USA did put out an alert.

According to space scientist Clark Chapman of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado, USA, there is a roughly 50 percent chance of a 30-meter-plus asteroid striking Earth each century. We can expect the next event of this type in 2028 when asteroid (153814) 2001 WN5 will pass within 0.6 lunar distances to earth.

    1. Hello Tucker. Yes, I was looking for Wing Chun schools in North Dakota. Especially in the Grand Forks area. Do you know any instructor there? Thank you. (By the way, it seems you commented on the wrong post. :). But that’s okay.)

  1. Hi there

There is something very special about YU55. And I think the chances of it hitting are enough to be considered.

I have modeled it numerically and I think that the slightest change in angle (in our direction) would mean devastation equal to about 1000 Hiroshima bombs should it transfer all its kinetic energy into us on a full hit. (it will not simply burn up). this is a simple kinetic energy equation knowing its mass (approx 1 million tons) and speed of 14 km/s.

I believe NASA cannot possibly say it will miss, if you see the object simulated in 3D i think you will agree with me. If there is anything in the way such as Leonids they could be hit like snooker balls into us. There are about 3 different things that could cause it to hurt us
    1. incorrect initial data from NASA
    2. NASA incorrectly modelling it with Newtonian principles ignoring the effect of drag in the interplanetary medium.
    3. The YU55 asteroid goes through a change in density layer which causes reflection of a few degrees angle, that causes a hit. Since Elenin is actually traveling in parallel with YU55 Elenin’s gases or debris may change the path slightly.
    4. It hits Leonids that (meteors in November) or pieces of Elenin which have broken off, smashing the pieces into us with snooker ball effect. Since YU55 is basically perfectly aimed at us to miss us by a hair breadth, anything in the way would shotgun into us I believe.
I have written to universities and NASA with these thoughts but no one has responded or explained why they could not occur.

The American government also takes control of the media the day afterwards for its test warning system. There is also a sign in the sky on September 30 that corresponds to Revelation 12. All of this makes me believe we should all be ready for November. I can back up all I am saying with scientific principles. You have me email now, so write to me if you would like to see more.

    Here is my simulation:
It has not been checked by scientists, only my own science, but all the predicted locations of the planets match orbit simulators, and if you ignore the effects of drag and space dust you also will get a result of 85% lunar distance for the proximity distance. If you are attempting to see where YU55 or Elenin is in the sky I hope the simulator can show you on Earth View where they will be at any date relative to the planets.

I am not trying to cause fear, but cause diligent preparation for any disaster, I believe people have not connected the dots, and should have some plan in place, supplies, and equipment, and an escape location set up if necessary.

  2. Dear Rob,

Thanks for the comment. That is a really nice piece of information you gave. Are you fairly certain of your calculations? If yes, may be I can discuss with my team of researchers and cross reference it. By the way, have you calculated the delta-v requirements to mitigate impact?

I opened your simulation. But how do I play it? I changed the frame interval to 1 second but it is not moving :(. Which software did you use to plot the orbital elements distribution? STK? ORSA?

  3. What part of the globe will you able to see it? I would like to be able to see the asteroid pass by on that day.

  4. If there was an earth-destructive asteroid coming our way, would the government say that it would hit it? I don’t think they would… They would probably first try to cover it up as something else, like in the movie Deep Impact. And agreeing with what Rob L said, the government does have to test, so they might have agreed to cover it up… is the world ending… The Bible could have proof…

  5. The time will come soon when all on Earth will look to the Heavens above.

This will be a very close call i pray it is only that. Discovered on December 28, 2005 by Robert McMillan of the Spacewatch Program A potentially hazardous Asteroid known as 2005 YU55.

This Asteroid some what Large 400 meter-sized type – C, will pass by the Earth right between our moon and Earth. On November 8, 2011.

The people on Earth have not seen a Asteroid of this size in advance. One this big Has not impacted Earth in over at least 4 thousand years.

Most Objects that have a diameters over 45 meters or 147.637 ft strike the Earth approximately once every thousand years or so. Lying flat everything for hundreds of miles.

Like the TUNGUSKA 1908 SIBERIA, RUSSIA CRASH OR Tunguska Explosion. This one did not even hit the Earth with its full Impact, it burst high in the air above the ground plowing it apart into many smaller parts. Making thousands of very deep holes in the Russian forests. Many of them in dense forest far from any roads or towns.

One 400 Meters 1,312.3 ft in diameter like this one YU55 weighing millions of tons would if impacted Earth on land would darken all of the Earth not for just days but much longer.

It would change the weather not seen on Earth in over thousands of years a massive climate change to say the least.

Asteroids in our Asteroid Belt that is between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars do have collisions and some do turn into meteoroids many in the past thousands of years have come into the Earth’s Atmosphere. Many of thousands of them make it into Meteorites the signs are all over the Earth, craters of all sizes.

Now Earth going through a Debris Field or Tail of a Comet or large Asteroid at almost the same time as Asteroid YU55 near Earth Miss? Debris fields some times are very Large to say the least.

The World and NASA will watch Outer Space very closely the next 30 days.
Most likely more Earthquakes and the Oceans Tide will be strongly affected just from a near miss. The Gravitational Effects from outer space will most likely effect Earth for days.

    Let us all pray
this is just a near Earth miss or NEO (Near Earth Object) or Near Earth Orbit.

Judgment Day will come soon enough.

Please Look at this site it is NASA’s Near Earth Object Program.

    (2005 XB1) NOV 8, 2011
    (2011 TP6) NOV 2011
    (2000 YA) DEC 26, 2011

Add a asteroid about a mile wide into this Equation and ???
Object ( 20011LC19 ) it to will be going by Earth around Oct 28, 2011 tru
    Nov 4, 2011. It is 1.2km or 3,937Ft wide.

May The Lord GOD our Father in Heaven Watch over and Guide you.
